The program is designed to connect early-career neurosurgeons with neurosurgeon-scientists who have/had NIH funding or NIH equivalent funding (example: DOD). The goal is to help the mentee successfully submit a NIH application. Candidates selected will be paired with an established neurosurgeon-scientist. Each pair is expected to meet on Zoom at least six times over nine months. The program participants will also be invited to participate to the NIH K12 Neurosurgeon Research Career Development Program (NRCDP) and Emerging Investigator Program by the Society of Neurological Surgeons.

Mentors requirements and application:

• Meet with your assigned mentee at least 6 zoom meetings over the course of 9 months
• Review draft submitted to you by your mentee pertinent to NIH submission
• Application: email your CV and NIH biosketch by/before April 30, 2023

Mentee requirements and application (click here to download the application form):

• Draft a grant proposal with your mentor
• At the end of the program, prepare a 10 min slide presentation about your project.
