Medical Neuro-Oncology Committee Updates

The Society of Neuro-Oncology Annual meeting will be held in Dallas, Texas from November 15-18, 2007.  The education day on 11/15 will review the new targeted therapies in glioma management.  One of the highlights of the meeting will be a panel discussion of members of the Academic/Community Alliance chaired by Dr. Tony Asher and Susan Chang. This will expand the efforts of the ACA initiated as part of the tumor section activities.  In addition, the Immunotherapy Working Group organized by Dr. Roberta Glick will also meet in Dallas at the annual meeting.

In 2009, the World Federation Meeting for Neuro-Oncology will be hosted by the Asian Society for Neuro-Oncology in lieu of the annual Society of Neuro-Oncology meeting in the United States. The leadership of the Tumor Section Executive Committee and the Society of Neuro-Oncology continue to work on the details of hosting of a combined meeting of the 2 societies for 2009.
